This unique seat mount kit is a direct bolt-in solution that lets you quickly and easily mount a racing bucket seat and a racing harness into your E36 chassis.
Our system omits the thick and heavy aluminum “floor mount adapters” which are typical for seat mounting options on the E36 chassis. This enables your racing seat to be mounted approximately 15mm lower than the alternative solutions on the market which is a desirable feature in racing applications where a low driver seating position is critical for ergonomics and a lower CG. Additionally, our seat mounting kit is very lightweight at only 7.6lbs total. This is approximately 5-10lbs lighter than the typical floor mounting solutions on the market which can weigh 12-18lbs (see pictures for examples). This is greater than the weight saved by upgrading from standard fiberglass to a carbon/kevlar seat!
Our solution minimizes the number of parts and bolted joints needed to mount a racing seat & harness in your E36 chassis. This has allowed us to offer you the most cost-effective option on the market while enabling a user-friendly DIY installation experience. Additionally, this kit is made from high-yield and tensile strength carbon steel alloy. The design is FEA analyzed and real-world tested. We have tested this exact set-up in our shop E36 racecar for over 2 years of hard racing.
This assembly is compatible with many racing seat manufacturers such as Recaro, Racetech, Sparco, OMP, Momo, Bride, Sabelt, etc. Our mounts are compatible with most XL-sized race seats and even the Racetech RT1000 seat.
Additionally, this kit allows you to mount a 6-point, 5-point, or 4-point racing harness to your set-up. The submarine bracket is needed for installs that will use a 5-point or 6-point harness. For the harnesses, we recommend snap-in harness ends. This kit is designed to fit many racing belt manufacturer options such as Schroth, Racecraft, Sparco, Racetech, Sabelt, OMP, Takata, Racequip, Willans, Crow, etc.
